Police Warn of Fake NSRC Officers Offering Scam Recovery Services

Police have issued a warning about a scam syndicate posing as officers from the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) to offer fake fund recovery services to victims.

This deceptive scheme targets people who have already fallen victim to scams, exploiting their desperation to recover lost money. The fraudsters impersonate legitimate NSRC personnel to build trust and credibility before directing victims to pay fees or provide sensitive information.

How the Scam Works

Scammers contact victims claiming to represent the NSRC and promise to help recover funds lost to previous scams. They may request upfront payments for "processing fees," "administrative costs," or "verification charges" under the guise of official procedures. In some cases, they may also attempt to extract personal banking details or other sensitive information.

What to do
