About ScamAlert Malaysia

ScamAlert Malaysia is an independent public-awareness portal documenting scams that target Malaysians. Online fraud losses in Malaysia exceeded RM2.9 billion in 2025 alone — most of it preventable with earlier warnings.

What we do

We publish three things: news and alerts summarising official police and regulator advisories; plain-language guides explaining how each scam type works; and community case reports submitted by victims and reviewed by our moderation team against evidence before publication.

Who runs this

The portal is operated by a small editorial team with backgrounds in finance and online platforms. We are not affiliated with PDRM, Bank Negara Malaysia, MCMC or any government agency, and we never charge victims for anything — fund-recovery "services" that ask for upfront fees are themselves a scam.

How we sustain the site

The site is funded by clearly-marked display advertising. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content or case moderation decisions.
